A children’s face paint set called “Face Paint” which is a blister pack containing 5 multi-coloured face paints has been withdrawn from the market for sale. The reason for the withdrawal is the fact that the product poses a chemical risk due to excessive levels of lead detected in the yellow face paint component of the set. The level of lead was measured at 16900mg/kg. The product also does not comply with the Cosmetics Directive 76/768/EEC. The product was manufactured in China and the brand is Chelford.
Liam Moloney, Product Liability Solicitor, said today, “if your child has suffered an injury using this paint set under the Law of product liability they would be entitled to compensation”.
