A 31 year old Galway woman who sustained soft tissue injuries in a road traffic accident on the 6th February 2008 has received an award of €35,000 from the High Court.
Ms. Louise Fogarty sustained neck and back injuries when a car collided with the drivers side of her car.
Medical reports obtained by Ms. Fogarty’s Solicitors confirmed that she had suffered a mild soft tissue injury to her neck and back. She also suffered from post traumatic stress. She was referred by her GP to a Consultant Psychiatrist. He confirmed that her psychological symptoms were consistent with a diagnosis of post traumatic stress disorder.
In assessing damages the High Court held that her injuries had an adverse impact on her ability to study for her final examinations and had interfered with her ability to socialise and to perform part time work.
