Beko has issued a safety notice warning to Consumers that some of its condenser tumble dryers are at risk of catching fire. If you have bought a Beko condenser dryer sometime between May and October 2012 you may have received one of the affected models.
Beko has said that it has been made aware of several incidents where an electrical component has failed and overheated in some of its condenser dryers ‘leading to a potential risk of fire’.
Beko are now urging all those who have bought a Beko condenser dryer from May 2012 to check if their dryer has been affected. Those with dryers affected by the fault will be entitled to get it fixed for free. 533 affected dryer were sold to Irish Consumers in 2012.
Beko has decided now to carry out a voluntary recall of the models which are the Beko 6kg and 7kg condenser tumble dryers.
If you have one of the affected products you should immediately stop using it and unplug it as a precaution.
