Paula Rojeski, a 55 year US citizen died shortly after undergoing gastric-band surgery at a clinic. Ms. Rojeski is the fifth person to die in the US shortly after gastric-bank procedures in clinics, according to corner’s records and interviews.
Ms. Rojeski is the second gastric-band patient to die after surgeries at a facility in the US. Three other patients died after procedures at another clinic in Beverly Hills. The gastric-band, which is manufactured by Allergan Inc is a silicone ring that is surgically implanted around the stomach to discourage overeating. Legal proceedings have now been issued in the USA against clinics who performed these procedures negligently.
