Many Local Authorities (Councils) use Roundup, or more accurately the ingredient Glyphosate found in it, to control weeds in public areas like parks, roadsides and public spaces. Some Councils have implemented partial or total bans in certain areas due to growing concerns about the impact of Glyphosate on human health and the environment.
Glyphosate has already been partially banned in France and the Netherlands, and the EU Commission has suggested minimizing its use in public places.
In 2015, the International Agency for research on Cancer found that Glyphosate, the main ingredient in Roundup, probably caused Cancer. Bayer who purchased the pharmaceutical Giant Monsanto in 2016 have denied that Glyphosate is carcinogenic in Humans. However, thousands of lawsuits have been filed against the companies in the United States. As of May 2025, Monsanto had reached settlement agreements in nearly 100,000 Roundup lawsuits, paying damages of approximately Eleven Billion dollars. 61,000 active lawsuits remain pending in the US Courts from individuals diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) after years of using Roundup.
Roundup exposure may happen by consuming contaminated food or water or being nearby while the product is being sprayed. This can affect agricultural workers and groundkeepers.
Have you worked with the Herbicide Roundup and received a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (NHL)? Your cancer diagnosis may be related to Glyphosate (Roundup) Exposure.
